WordPress to Webflow Migration
How we make money: Some links on this page are affiliate links. If you click one and sign up or buy, SwitchMyApps may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Partners don't pay for placement in our guides or approve what we write, and we cover the limits and downsides of every tool, including the ones we earn from. Prices and features change, so check the vendor's site before you decide. Every price on this page lists the date we last verified it.
Who should (and shouldn't) move off WordPress
Move: marketing sites where designers want control and nobody wants to maintain plugins, updates, or security. Stay: sites with heavy plugin functionality (membership, LMS, complex WooCommerce), very large content libraries over Webflow's CMS limits, or teams that need full server access.
Cost comparison
WordPress itself is free, but hosting, premium themes, and plugins cost money. For a WooCommerce store, WooCommerce itself estimates hosting at $25–$350/month and extensions at $29–$299/year each (source: https://woocommerce.com/pricing/, verified 2026-10-14). A non-store blog usually costs less. Webflow: Basic $15/mo yearly or $25 monthly (no CMS, 300 static pages); Premium $25/mo yearly or $39 monthly (Webflow CMS, up to 20,000 CMS items and 40 collections); free Starter is limited to 50 CMS items and 2 pages (source: https://webflow.com/pricing, verified 2026-10-14). Workspace plans are billed separately: Core $19/mo, Growth $49/mo yearly (same source).
Pros and cons
Webflow pros: hosting, CDN, SSL, and backups included; no plugin updates; visual design; built-in 301s, sitemap, and schema (source: https://webflow.com/pricing, verified 2026-10-14). Webflow cons: CMS item caps; no plugin ecosystem on WordPress's scale; you can't import your WordPress theme or code ("you can only develop websites in Webflow," per the Webflow FAQ, source: https://webflow.com/pricing, verified 2026-10-14); lock-in, since CMS content must be exported collection by collection.

Step 1: Export posts
Tools → Export → Download Export File in WordPress produces a WXR (XML) file with posts, pages, comments, custom fields, categories, tags, and users. You can filter by category, author, date range, and status (source: https://wordpress.org/documentation/article/tools-export-screen/, verified 2026-10-14). Convert it to CSV with a converter or a plugin that exports CSV.
Step 2: Import into the Webflow CMS
Create your Webflow site, build a Blog Posts collection with fields matching your CSV (title, slug, body, author, category, date, featured image), then import. How many items you can import depends on your site plan, and each CSV can be up to 4 MB. Rich-text fields accept HTML, but Webflow may strip unsupported elements, classes and attributes. Images need direct URLs (source: https://help.webflow.com/hc/en-us/articles/33961290794771-How-do-I-import-content-into-the-Webflow-CMS, verified 2026-10-14).
Converter tools and services
Marketplace apps can automate WP → Webflow imports: "WP to Webflow" (free, needs a CMS plan; moves posts, categories, tags) and PowerImporter (free plan; paid prices not listed) (source: https://webflow.com/apps/detail/wp-to-webflow and https://webflow.com/apps/detail/powerimporter, verified 2026-10-14). Converters handle content, not design.
Images, authors, categories
Make Authors and Categories separate collections joined with reference fields. Images may need to be re-uploaded.
Redirects and SEO checklist
- Keep the same slugs wherever possible.
- Add 301s for every changed URL (paid Site plans, source: https://webflow.com/pricing, verified 2026-10-14).
- Recreate titles and meta descriptions.
- Submit the new sitemap.
